Amazon and the learning curve

Turns out you cannot pay for advertising on Amazon when you write smut. Who knew? Not me. That was kinda my plan. Alas, I am now to join the rest of the smut writers and hope my readers find my stories via my keywords and then stay for my stories….

I did know you get five free days of ‘advertising’ via a Free Book promo. Smut isn’t allowed to take part in the countdown promo but thankfully the free book promo works. Phew. I tried the Free Book promo in mid December and 210 people around the world downloaded The Secret Club. It was exciting. The book went to #13 in the US for Polyamorous Erotica and #6 in Australia. I looked every time I remembered. In the end 210 people from around the world. I’m not sure if that was good or bad, but it felt good to me. And the best bit? I have (or will soon have) three more books to take part in this promo. Amazon allows this special offer once per title in each three month Kindle Unlimited Cycle.
